The Zarka Table
For many years, a chart called the “zarka table” has been printed as an appendix in Jewish Bibles. Teachers have had their students practice cantillation by chanting the te’amim in the order shown in this chart. One version of the chart is shown below. How many errors can you find? Are the names wrong? Are the symbols for the te’amim depicted in error? Does the sequence make sense?
